Our newest interns Joan Jett, Warm Up, and Cool Down did a purrfect job welcoming visitors of all ages to the University Heights Branch this afternoon!

They told us to say thanks for bringing food, treats, leashes, toys, and other supplies to the Library's donation drive for the Cleveland Animal Protective League. 🐱💗🐶

All three are still looking for their furever homes and come highly recommended by their coworkers!

P.S. We loved hosting the APL staff for this event. They answered almost as many questions as a librarian does! Check out their website to learn more about donating supplies or adopting a new friend.

Are you handy, dependable, and dedicated to providing safe and welcoming library spaces? Heights Libraries is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Facilities Manager to join our Buildings team! 🛠️🧰🏫

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position supports the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of library buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems.

Starting pay is $20.90/hour, with final compensation commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.

Did you know that as the events of 9/11 unfolded 25 years ago, Cleveland-area air traffic controllers were among the first on the ground to realize United Flight 93 had been hijacked before passengers overtook the plane?

Or that another aircraft suspected to be hijacked, Delta Flight 1989, was diverted to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport for an emergency landing not long after?

These stories remind us that history is not something that happens somewhere else. It reaches our cities, our neighborhoods, and our communities. In moments of tragedy, it can also reveal how deeply connected we are to one another.

Today, we remember and honor the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001, and encourage you to engage with their stories. Our librarians would be happy to help you find a book, film, or other resource to learn more.
