🏈 We had a great time at Friday night's UNIFI Bowl connecting with so many members of our community!

The Yadkin County Education Foundation's Touchdowns for Education campaign is underway, and we're grateful to UNIFI for making their game sponsorship a donation to the Yadkin County Education Foundation Fund.

We also want to recognize 14 local churches from across Yadkin County that united around this effort and raised more than $3,000 to support education. What an incredible example of a community coming together for students. We're excited to welcome Jon Huggins to the Shallow Ford Foundation as the new Shore Scholars Program Coordinator!

A familiar face to many in Yadkin County, Jon brings more than 30 years of experience as an educator, coach, and mentor. Before retiring from Yadkin County Schools in 2025, he spent 18 years teaching English at Forbush High School. He continues to invest in local students through substitute teaching and coaching basketball.

In his new role, Jon will help guide Shore Scholars students through mentoring opportunities, workshops, college advising, and other resources that support their journey to higher education and beyond. Please join us in welcoming Jon to the Shallow Ford Foundation!

Today, we were delighted to host a small Estate Planning & Charitable Giving Luncheon at our Yadkinville office for local attorneys and professional advisors.

Todd and Emmy enjoyed sharing how the Shallow Ford Foundation helps individuals, families, and their advisors incorporate charitable giving into estate plans, creating a lasting legacy that supports the communities and causes they care about most. We're grateful for the meaningful conversations and hope to host more lunches like this in the future!

This morning, the Shallow Ford Foundation joined South Oak Ridge Baptist Church and Yadkin County Schools to provide breakfast for YCS teachers and staff as they start the new school year!

Volunteers gathered early to organize and deliver breakfasts to schools across Yadkin County, helping welcome educators and staff back for another year of serving students.

A special thank you to Magnify Ministries, South Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Yadkin County Rotary, and the many community volunteers whose time and effort made this morning possible. We are also grateful to Bojangles - Yadkinville for helping support this initiative and to Yadkinville United Methodist Church for generously providing their facility as our gathering and distribution location.

Together, we celebrated the dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff who invest in Yadkin County students every day. We appreciate all that you do and wish you a wonderful and successful school year ahead! 🍎📚✨

The Shore Scholars kicked off a new year with their Opening Retreat at our Yadkin office this afternoon! Students teamed up for a hands-on culinary team-building experience led by Chef Don and Chef Andrew with Culinary Team Building, preparing and enjoying lunch together and discussing plans and goals for the year ahead. We're excited to watch this outstanding group of students grow, learn, and lead throughout the coming year!
