Neico, our Prevention Specialist, recently partnered with PNC Bank to educate seniors at the East Cleburne Community Center Bingo event about one of today's most common scams: relationship scams.

Scammers often build trust and create emotional connections with their victims, convincing them to send money under false pretenses. During the presentation, seniors learned how these scams work, how to protect themselves financially, and the warning signs to watch for in suspicious relationships.

Some common red flags include:
❀️ Someone professing strong feelings very quickly
πŸ’° Requests for money, gift cards, or financial assistance
πŸ“± Refusing to meet in person or make video calls
🚩 Creating emergencies that require immediate financial help

Education and awareness are key to preventing fraud. Thank you to PNC Bank and the East Cleburne Community Center for helping us empower seniors with the knowledge they need to stay safe and protect their finances.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers from Heritage of Faith Christian Center!

Every summer they take time out of their day to give our flower beds some TLC and we are so grateful! In the next few weeks these flowers and vines will be thriving and filling the space with even more color and life.

We truly appreciate your continued support and the care you show our community! πŸ’œπŸŒΏ

πŸ’œβœ¨ Please join us in welcoming Amanda Goodson as the new Community Outreach Coordinator for the Johnson County Family Crisis Center! βœ¨πŸ’œ

Amanda is a relationship-driven professional, public speaker, and passionate community advocate who brings a heart for service and a deep commitment to helping others. Throughout her career, she has built meaningful partnerships, coordinated community events, led outreach campaigns, and connected countless individuals with valuable resources throughout Johnson County.

Amanda's ability to engage with diverse audiences, foster collaboration, and create spaces where people feel supported and empowered makes her a wonderful addition to our team. Her leadership is rooted in empathy, accountability, and resilience, and she is dedicated to strengthening community awareness around domestic violence, sexual assault, and the resources available to survivors.

As a survivor of domestic violence herself, Amanda's connection to our mission is deeply personal. Her lived experience has shaped her compassion, strengthened her advocacy, and fueled her desire to be a source of hope for those navigating difficult circumstances.

We are incredibly excited to have Amanda join our Family Crisis Center family and look forward to the impact she will make in our community! πŸ’œπŸ’™
