We're in this together!
28 years ago today a regional partnership on water was formed and ended the 'water wars.' Now, more than 2.6 million residents and businesses across Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties and the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa can count on us to ensure we have clean, safe and reliable water now and in the future. 🦺 Kings and Bloomingdale intersection is fully reopened.

Crews successfully installed a new drinking water pipeline beneath the intersection as part of the South Hillsborough Pipeline Project. We appreciate the community’s patience as we completed this microtunneling and open trench construction work safely.

Keep Conserving— We’re still in a Stage 3 Regional Supply Shortage.
Above-average May rainfall helped reduce demand, but it wasn’t enough to erase the region’s rainfall deficit. Residents can help by following outdoor watering restrictions and using water wisely indoors.

Upgrades approved to boost drought‑proof water supply.

The Reverse Osmosis Trains Project will modernize key systems at Tampa Bay Water’s desalination plant, improving efficiency and system redundancy. Once complete, the plant will return to its original 28 mgd capacity—ensuring a drought-proof supply during dry conditions. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027.

Big win for regional water reliability. Tampa Bay Water has final approval to continue increased withdrawals from the Alafia River when environmental conditions allow—helping strengthen supply, refill the regional reservoir faster, and prepare for future dry seasons.
