06/03/2026

From June 1 through Sept. 30, the sale and application of lawn and landscape fertilizers containing nitrogen or phosphorus are prohibited during the rainy season.

Why does it matter? Summer storms can wash excess fertilizer into storm drains, ponds, lakes, and waterways, contributing to harmful algal blooms and impacting water quality. By taking a break from fertilizing, you're helping protect Clearwater's waterways and our environment.

Learn more about the seasonal fertilizer ordinance and how you can help keep our waters clean: pinellas.gov/fertilizer

Psst! Friendly reminder, Pinellas! June 1st marks the start of the county-wide fertilizer restriction. ⚠️

This means any sale or use of lawn & landscape fertilizers containing nitrogen and phosphorus are prohibited. Pausing lawn fertilizer use during the rainy season 🌦️ helps protect our waters by not "feeding" algal blooms ❌🦠, not flushing money down the storm drain 💸, and having more time to enjoy summer 🌞!
