Bob Cundiff, Clearwater City Council

In March, 2016, Dr. Bob was elected to the Clearwater City Council. For more than 20 years he has been teaching as an adjunct for St. Petersburg College. At SPC, Bob teaches speech communication and public speaking at the Clearwater campus, where he enjoys working with students from the area and international students. here he taught for 19 years and served on numerous committees. He has a PhD from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. As Vice President of the Clearwater chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), he visits high schools in northern Pinellas and western Pasco counties, awarding SAR Good Citizenship and Jr. Since his father was a scoutmaster for a dozen years, Bob enjoys awarding SAR achievement certificates to area Boy Scouts when they become Eagle Scouts. Bob is a Christian and member of Lakeside Community Chapel. Bob is a member of the Gideons International, an organization that actively promotes the distribution of the Bible and the "Good News" it contains. A member of the Dramatists Guild, Inc., Bob meets regularly with the Suncoast Playwrights. An amateur photographer, Bob specializes right now in sunrise photographs. He also enjoys genealogical research and watching classic movies, including silent film. He has been a regular blood donor. Bob’s wife, the former Kirsten Eastergard, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark and died in 2013; they were married 43 years.
