Sharing a bit of bad news...tomorrow's Day of Independence (Dia de la Independencia) will NOT be concluding with a fireworks show.

Lake County and Clearlake are under a Red Flag Warning (10 AM SAT to 2 AM SUN), and there are predicted to be 20-30 mph winds tomorrow evening (https://www.weather.gov/sto/) . Based on direction from the Lake County Fire Protection District we have determined the safest option is to cancel the fireworks show for tomorrow night.

The good news is we have re-scheduled the fireworks show for the City's Winter Festival, to be held on December 5th in Austin Park.

Even without the fireworks, the event will be loaded with family fun, food and music all day long! See you there!

Lake County Boating Update

As part of the upcoming LG Sonic buoy project, installation of a navigational channel began yesterday in the lower arm of the lake near Redbud Park. Installation is expected to be completed by Friday, weather and site conditions permitting.

Please refer to the attached map for the approximate channel location.

The channel is expected to be approximately 2 miles in length and will help identify and guide boaters through the project area. The buoys will be equipped with flashing solar lights to improve nighttime visibility.

The goal of the navigational channel is to provide a clearly identified route through the project area and help improve boating access and navigation.

Boaters are encouraged to remain alert, observe all posted and marked navigation information, and operate at safe speeds appropriate for current conditions.

Additional information will be shared as the project progresses. Please use caution around the installation area while work is underway.
