WSU completed a write-up on Cadet Olson, one of our cadets. Cadet Olson, like many of our other cadets, is inspirational and brings leadership and integrity to the law enforcement profession.

In just a few months, Zachary Olson will graduate from Weber State University’s Law Enforcement Academy and enter the police force. It’s a swift transition for Olson, who was on a Ph.D. track in robotics and mechanical engineering just one year ago.

🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11 🇺🇸
Today marks 24 years since the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania in the deadliest attack on American soil.
-344 Fire Fighters
-72 Police Officers
-8 EMTs/paramedics
-Countless more have passed away since then due to health-related issues!

This morning the WSU Law Enforcement Academy Cadets hiked to Flag Rock in Farmington Utah. The flag was placed on the mountainside by Randy West to serve as a memory of the emergency personnel and those who perished in the 9/11 attacks. The hike to the flag symbolizes the climb the rescuers took up the Twin Tower stairs since the elevators were unusable. The cadets climbed, many without stopping, to get to the top. They are committed to this profession, their families, and the communities they will serve.

As we reflect, we honor the victims, the first responders, and the countless heroes who showed incredible courage and sacrifice in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We will never forget. 🕯️🙏
