You can prevent Lyme disease while spending time outdoors this summer:

✅Use EPA-approved insect repellent.
✅After your outdoor activity, always do a thorough tick check everywhere on your body.
✅Check your pets, too, if they adventured with you! 🐾

💡The only tick that can transmit Lyme disease to humans in Utah is the Western Black-legged Tick. These ticks are often found in wooded areas, tall grasses, shrubs, and weedy edges of forests or parks. When Lyme disease is found early, treatment is usually very effective and most people recover well.

If you need to remove a tick, our friends at Utah State University Extension have a helpful resource: https://extension.usu.edu/planthealth/uppdl/ticks/remove-ticks

📢 The kick off event is tomorrow 📢

This summer, we’re stepping into something good for our bodies, minds, and community. 🌿 Join us and USU Extension - Davis County at the USU Botanical Center for the kick off of the 2026 Wellness Walks Series—a community summer walking program designed to get families moving together. 🌞🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

This summer, we’re stepping into something good for our bodies, minds, and community. 🌿

Join us and the Davis County Health Department at the USU Botanical Center on May 27th for the kickoff of the 2026 Wellness Walks Series—a community summer walking program designed to get families moving together.

At the kickoff event, community partners will be on-site sharing health resources, answering questions, and offering fun swag for all ages. You’ll also learn how the program works, how to track your steps, and how to report your data.

Whether you’re walking with little ones, friends, or going solo, this is a welcoming way to start building healthy habits. Morning walks bring cooler temps, beautiful views, and an easy opportunity to add more movement into your routine.

We hope to see you there as we launch the first steps of this walking series.🌞🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️
