Just prior to our monthly meeting tonight Tanker 13 was dispatched to assist Jefferson County with a brush fire. The tanker made the response with 2 career personnel. While Tanker 13 was in Jefferson, Engine 13 was dispatched to assist Berkeley County with a possible car fire on the interstate. Engine 13 with 3 Career and 3 Volunteers made the response. Both units on both incidents were cancelled before arrival. During our meeting, Tanker 13 responded to Jefferson for a barn fire with 2 career personnel. Tanker 13 operated for a short time before returning in service. The power of strong mutual aid and a well respected combination system is more reasons to join our agency. We are always accepting applications!

This week your dedicated volunteers have spent countless hours detailing several pieces of apparatus making their debut tomorrow night for the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival®. Volunteers cleaned the units, repainted the brush truck as needed, and repainted hand tools. Look for the Ambulance, the Brush, and the UTV in the parade and wave! Also our retired Wagon 13 will be joining us in the lineup this year! Volunteers also ran several calls while working on these units. Thank you to all for your time this week working hard to get these units looking good for this event. As always, we are accepting applications for all aspects of our department. Inquire within. Have a safe and happy Bloom!
