In honor of Juneteenth, flags have been installed in Memorial Park in downtown Clayton. As we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States during our Semiquincentennial, we celebrate the resilience, creativity and contributions of Black Americans both past and present.

Thank you to all who joined us this morning, including President of the St. Louis County NAACP Charlie Dooley, County Executive Sam Page, Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Price Smith, and Saint Louis County employees.

In observance of Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, County offices will be closed.

Today, I visited KSDK's new studio and sat down with Anne Allred to discuss how the St. Louis region can work together to keep essential services strong as costs continue to rise. We talked about opportunities for greater collaboration and how sharing services could improve efficiency while continuing to meet residents' needs.

The new space looks great, and I appreciate the opportunity to share these ideas. The interview will air on an upcoming episode of The Record with Mark Maxwell.

Today, I signed a bill making a major investment in public safety. Bill 92 invests $22 million to enhance our emergency radio system that keeps first responders connected across our region. With these funds, we’re strengthening system resilience, cybersecurity, and improved coordination during severe weather and emergencies. Thanks to our Emergency Communications Commission for their work advocating for the tools our first responders need.
