9:20 a.m. June 16, 2026 UPDATE:

Thank you to the public and our network of media partners.

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 17-year-old girl missing from the Cornelia area since about 10:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, is safe.

She has been found within the past hour in a neighboring county.

In accordance with policy, the teen’s name and photograph are being removed.

What a great Ramshackle Weekend!



As the final tents come down, the bounce house deflates, and the music fades, the Clayton Police Departments wants to take a moment to thank everyone who made this year's Ramshackle Weekend such a tremendous success. From our talented musicians, vendors and dedicated organizers who filled our streets with energy, and the families who came to enjoy the festivities, you helped showcase everything that makes the City of Clayton such a special place.



Throughout the weekend, our community came together to enjoy great food, unique crafts, children's activities, outstanding entertainment, and offered the warm hospitality that defines our unique mountain town. Watching children laugh and play, neighbors reconnect, visitors explore our downtown, and vendors and local businesses thrive was a reminder of the strong community spirit that makes Clayton more than just a destination—it makes it home.



We are proud of our community, proud of the volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, while, again, overwhelmed with the welcoming atmosphere that was evident throughout the weekend. Events like Ramshackle remind us why Clayton is such a remarkable place to live, work, and visit.



Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, supported local businesses, and helped make this event safe, enjoyable, and memorable. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Today marks the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. We pause to remember the incredible courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Their bravery paved the way for the freedom we enjoy today. We are forever grateful.
