Today was quite the day celebrating the beginning of LGBTQIA+ Pride month at Clayton Pride’s 5th Annual Parade & Festival. Our volunteers, committees, and Board poured their blood, sweat, and tears into putting on another successful event to show our youth in Clayton and throughout the Bay Area that they’re accepted and free to be themselves today and every day! I’ll share more photos soon, but here is a glimpse of the day.

Today is a monumental day for the Keller Ridge Firewise community thanks to the persistence of neighbor Deborah Gong reaching out 18 months ago regarding wildfire concerns due to the thick vegetation at adjacent homes. A huge debt of gratitude goes out to ConFire Captain Joe Ottolini, Measure X fuel mitigation funds, and the 14-person hand crew creating defensible space at 9 properties in our Firewise neighborhood today! Our neighborhood and city will be little safer with this vital work being done as we enter fire season. Thank you, Deborah, ConFire, and Captain Ottolini!

See y’all out there this morning to clean our streets, creeks, and parks. It’s a great way to help Mother Earth and get community service hours if you need them!

Reminder: CBCA invites the Clayton community to celebrate Earth Day by joining Clayton Cleans Up 2026! On Saturday, April 18th from 9 AM to Noon, volunteers will gather at Clayton City Hall (6000 Heritage Trail) to help clean up local parks, streets, and creeks.

All are welcome — individuals, families, service clubs, HOAs, and neighborhood groups! Free barbecue for all participants, and the first 200 volunteers receive a free T-shirt.

Presented by the CBCA in partnership with the City of Clayton and Republic Services.

Thank you to Allison and Cedric Snow for donating the Autism Awareness Flag flying in downtown Clayton for the next month. I appreciate them sharing their why, how the flag design shows the complexity of Autism, and proudly raising the flag to show other families that we see them.
