National Peace Officers Memorial Day, established by President Kennedy in 1962, is observed on May 15th every year to honor and remember fallen Law Enforcement Officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. Our hearts are with these families today and always.

During National Police Week, we also recognize the dedication and steadfast commitment of our police officers who serve their communities with compassion every day.

CPD climbed 1,548 steps today in honor of Madison Heights Fire Department Captain Jeff Brozich, who died in the line of duty on March 1st, 2021. Gone but never forgotten!

We’d like to give a shout out to the residents who delivered us 1,958 bottles and cans to raise money for the American Lung Association, to the Clawson Boy Scouts and High School seniors who did the dirty work of returning them for us, and to everyone in the community who supports us each and every day!

UPDATE: Solved. Thank you for your assistance.

Does anyone recognize this driver or vehicle?

The vehicle is a Chrysler (2014-2015) Town & Country, dark blue or black, with crossbars on the roof. It sustained heavy front end damage after the driver drove into our stop sign at Phillips & N. Washington yesterday outside of CES at approximately 1:35pm.

The female driver then continues to drive south on N. Washington, disobeying the stop sign at John M, and finally turning eastbound on Broadacre.

If you have any information regarding this vehicle or driver, please contact Officer Barnett or Officer Brozich.

Important Notice: WATER WARS

We want the community to be advised of an activity that many high school students participate in this time of year known as "Water Wars". This is not a school sanctioned event, and students have been advised of the dangers that can occur with participation.

The purpose of our notice is to inform the community in case they see it occurring and to strongly urge parents to speak with their teens about the dangers if they are allowing them to participate.

We have had a few calls for service that have come in from concerned community members who thought assaults were in progress. Many other communities have had reports of very dangerous driving to include car chases as well as students trespassing on private property, disrupting businesses, use of modified water guns, illegal use of air tags, and other reckless behavior to accomplish their "water ambush". This irresponsible behavior leads to legal consequences.

We want our kids to have fun, but not at the expense of safety. What seems like a harmless competition for cash prizes can often be dangerous. If your child is participating, please discuss this with them.
