Join us for Splash the Badge, a free community event hosted by our Juvenile Engagement Team (JET)! This exciting event brings together local law enforcement, first responders, and families for a morning of positive interaction, laughter, and water-filled fun.

🌙📵 Driving at night already comes with increased risks—don’t make it more dangerous by using your cellphone.

Here’s why putting the phone down matters even more after dark:
• Reduced visibility makes it harder to see pedestrians, animals, and hazards
• Slower reaction time when your attention is divided
• Glare from headlights and screens can impact your vision
• Increased fatigue can affect focus and decision-making

Taking your eyes off the road for even a few seconds at night can have serious consequences. A quick text or scroll isn’t worth the risk.

📵🚗 Our department is proud to support the Hands Free TN campaign!

From April 1–15, we’ll be joining agencies across Tennessee in raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving. Remember, it is illegal to hold your phone while driving—stay focused, keep your hands on the wheel, and your eyes on the road.

Throughout the campaign, we’ll be sharing tips and information to help keep our community safe. Let’s work together to reduce distracted driving and prevent unnecessary crashes.

The Austin Peay State University Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and staff of Kenwood Middle School. You are all in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Our hearts go out especially to the families of the children who lost their lives in this heartbreaking and tragic event. We stand with our community in mourning and offer our continued support.

Congratulations to Officer Adams on graduating from the police academy today! 👮‍♀️🎓

Over the past several weeks, she has been away from her family and the department while working hard to achieve this milestone and fulfill a long-held dream. Her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the profession are truly commendable.

We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment and excited to welcome her back. We look forward to seeing the impact she will make as she continues her career serving our campus community. Great job, Officer Adams! 👏
