Finally Friday!!! We had a great week of school!

A fun day in 4th grade math! Students started with their daily multiplication fact fluency using flash cards, then took on a “Crack the Code” challenge with 5 stations. Working collaboratively, students solved multistep word problems, used problem-solving strategies, and showed their work like good mathematicians!

It was Yellow Week in Kindergarten!

Finally Friday Meeting in 4th grade had students spending Bengal Bucks they earned for working hard all week!

First grade has been learning skip counting. To make a real world connection with skip counting by 2s we skip counted our shoes!

Some of our friends were learning to work together!

Important Reminders for Parents and Guardians Regarding Child Nutrition

🍎 The Free and Reduced Meal Program grace period will end on September 22, 2026.
🍎 If you believe your child qualifies for free or reduced-price meal benefits and you have not submitted an application for the 2026-2027 school year or have not received a letter confirming eligibility, you will need to complete an application. You must complete an application every year to remain eligible.
🍎 We strongly encourage families to apply online at https://www.schoolcafe.com, as it is the fastest and most convenient option. Applications can be completed on a computer or mobile device. You will need to create an account and set up a username and password before completing the application.
🍎 Families who are unable to apply online may pick up a paper application from their child's school office or at Central Office Gracey (621 Gracey Avenue, Clarksville).
🍎 If an approved application is not on file by September 23, your child's meal status will change to paid, and parents/guardians will be responsible for any meal charges on the student's account.

Today we were visited by the APSU Baseball Team as part of “Peayple in the Community” Day of Service. These men participated with our students in PE, at recess, in classrooms, and at lunch. Students asked the players well thought out questions, players listened to students read, and worked on multiplication facts with students.

We appreciate the time they took to be a part of our Bengal Family!

What a busy week we had at Barksdale this week! Enjoy a little glimpse from a few classes.

SRO Patterson has implemented the Star Deputy Program. One student is chosen from a class each day and help complete safety checks with him. He gets to know a little about each student, as well as, shows the importance of making sure the school is secure, and reminding them to never open the door to an untrustworthy adult. This week was Madison (4th grade), Jackson (4th grade), and Lucille (Kindergarten). Great job!! Thank you Deputy Pat!

Our Kindergarten students have been learning about the color red. Today they celebrated by all wearing red to school!

Mrs. Jackson's 2nd grade class has Three Stars of the Week to go along with our Finally Friday Class Meetings. Great job to our friends in Mrs. Jackson's class!

For the Finally Friday Class meeting in Mrs. Wilson's class, Robyn, Bryson, and Isaac presented their All About Me posters. The class also got to enjoy cupcakes for Benji's birthday.

Mrs. Rose's 4th Grade ELA class worked hard during their jigsaw activity while working with a piece of text! Her class also worked on a Friendly Friday question - How were you a good friend to someone or how was someone a friend to you this week. Great work!!!
