Montgomery County Health Foundation
issues call for traffic signal box artists

The Montgomery County Health Foundation, in partnership with Replant Clarksville and the Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council, invites local and regional artists to submit original, two-dimensional designs to be transformed into vinyl wraps for two traffic signal boxes.

The signal boxes are at Crossland Avenue and Pageant Lane and Crossland Avenue and Richardson Street intersections in Clarksville.

Interested artists should submit designs by 5 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2026. The artists with the selected design will receive a $300 stipend. The Foundation will pay for transferring the design and installing the wrap.

These signal box wraps are part of a larger project funded by an AARP Community Challenge grant with additional support from a Tennessee Arts Commission Arts Build Communities grant.

Project goals are to—
● Make these intersections a calmer space for both pedestrians and motorists.
● Beautify the streetscape by turning grey utility boxes into vibrant public canvases.
● Deter graffiti and vandalism, saving community maintenance costs.
● Showcase local artistic talent and make art accessible to everyone daily.

Govs Creative Arts Festival is on September 12 at the Clarksville Downtown Commons! The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with nonstop fun 🤩
