The Montgomery County Tennessee Young Republicans want to remind everyone that early voting for the primary election will take place April 15 through April 30, and Primary Election Day is May 5. This is an important opportunity to make your voice heard and support Republican leadership at the local, state, and national levels. We encourage every eligible voter to make a plan, show up, and do their part. Your vote matters, and every election plays a role in shaping the future of our communities. Get out and support your Republican leaders.

Meet our Vice Treasurer, Issac!

Issac Barrientos is a Realtor and real estate investor serving Middle Tennessee. As an entrepreneur rooted in the local market, his work centers on helping individuals and families build long-term wealth through strategic property ownership and responsible investment. His professional experience reflects discipline, initiative, and a results-oriented approach to service.

Raised in a family shaped by military service — with his father serving in the United States Air Force — Issac was instilled with the values of accountability, perseverance, and commitment to something greater than oneself. Grounded in Republican and traditional principles, he believes strong communities are built through personal responsibility, economic freedom, and leadership that protects foundational American ideals while expanding opportunity.

Issac believes the most effective leaders are defined by action, not rhetoric. Leadership requires the courage to step forward first, embrace calculated risk, and remain steady under pressure. He views adversity as a refining force and believes growth is earned through experience, not comfort.

The elected YR officers met this week and made appointments to fill our board. We are so excited to welcome our new officers! Let's start by introducing our Parlimentarian, Elijah Horton.

Elijah Horton serves in law enforcement and is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, where he earned his Master of Science in Strategic Leadership and Organizational Management. His background reflects a commitment to service, discipline, and principled leadership.

Grounded in Republican and Christian values, Elijah believes in personal responsibility, accountability, and the importance of strong communities supported by effective, principled leadership. He values respect for the Constitution and leadership that delivers results.

He believes the greatest leaders welcome different perspectives and that leadership is not defined by age. Youth is not a limitation. Life experience builds perspective, and adversity builds strength.

Elijah met his middle school sweetheart, Brittnye, in the seventh grade. They are now married and are the proud parents of their son, Liam. Faith, family, and service remain central to Elijah’s life and leadership.

He is passionate about encouraging young Republicans to become involved in their communities, serve others, and lead with integrity and conviction.
