The Johnson County Sheriff's Office deputies will never call you anonymously and attempt to get you to pay a fine over the phone. We have been made aware that this is happening and it is a common scam. The scammer will tell you that you have a warrant and try to get you to pay a fee to avoid getting arrested. If you have any questions concerning whether or not you're being contacted by one of our deputies, call the Sheriff's Office and we will have one of our real deputies reach out to you.

It's Dispatch Appreciation Week and the Johnson County Sheriff's Office would like to show off some of the women and men behind the scenes. These are just some of the faces who are the lifeline between the community and our first responders. Their work requires compassion, dedication, quick thinking, and commitment to serve others. Though they are not often seen, their impact is felt with every call answered. To our dispatch team: thank you for your hard work and dedication. You play a vital role in every call in this community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn't do our job without you. Thank you. 🖤💛🖤

There is someone going around door to door in the County and surrounding counties saying he is with a television company but not wearing anything proving he is employed with anyone. Asking to come inside people's residence to check on their tv, insisting on coming into the residence and asking for them by their name or deceased family member's name. It is a younger male in his early 20's wearing a white polo shirt driving a white kia with Texas tags. The caller advised she has confirmed with their television company Direct TV that they have not sent anyone around. Wanted us to be aware.

Citizens of Johnson County. Back by popular demand. We are turning on the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center page. Many of you asked to have the page turned on, as a sign of good faith, we are. I just ask two small favors. The first is this, please keep your comments G-rated. We’re not the only ones who view the page. Not everyone appreciates foul language, derogatory comments, or otherwise nasty behavior. I understand some of you will want to voice concerns, or even gripes, that’s ok, we can handle the comments. I ask that you don’t subject the public to the same. If you feel you need to be nasty, direct message us, or better yet, come see us, we welcome the insightful discourse.

With that said, this page is for you the people. A place where we can share information with each other. Over the next few months, we’ll post some of the good things were doing. We’ll also post messages pertinent to the safety and welfare of the community. Just remember Johnson County, we’re here to protect and serve you, but we’re still human. We will make mistakes, and when we do, we’ll work to fix them. We won’t make everyone happy all the time. If we did, then we’re doing something wrong. But we’ll try to make the right decisions for the safety and security of Johnson County.

The second favor I ask is this, be patient as we work through some changes. As I’ve said before, we are public servants, but please don’t abuse those who serve you. We understand that we see some of you at the worst possible moments in life. Maybe you act in ways that you normally wouldn’t, we know that is part of being a human. Please understand that the same is true for us. Sometimes we struggle the same as you. The difference is we are professionals working for a professional organization. At times we have to set aside our personal lives, time with our families, kids, and loved ones, because we choose to live a life of public service. I just ask that you be patient when it’s needed.

To the 5% of the population we will never make happy, who will gripe about everything, who are the most vocal, we still serve you and the community you live in. You may not like the way we do things, but we are there when you need us, even when you hate making that call. When you finally decide that we’re not so bad, we’re always taking applications. When you’re ready, stop hating and come join the sheriff’s office family.

Johnson County is a great place to work, live, and be part of. This is a great community with a ton to offer. I am thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given to serve. I’m thankful to the Quorum Court for the trust they’ve placed in me to see this through. I’m thankful for the deputies who do the job and the citizens who have shown their support. We don’t have a lot of time, but I think we can get some good things done for Johnson County. You’re looking at the first, turning the page back on.

We’ll talk again soon. Until then, Stay Fabulous Johnson County.
