TEMA Intergovernmental Update:
Bit of a long post, but an important one for our community. As you go through the various deadlines from the list below, Montgomery County is designated for Individual Assistance and Public Assistance.
•Tennesseans in 29 counties can apply for FEMA Individual Assistance (IA) through NEXT WEDNESDAY, June 10, 2026.
•Tennesseans can apply for FEMA IA by:
-Visiting DisasterAssistance.gov
-Calling 800-621-3362
-Using the FEMA App
-IA provides aid to individuals and households impacted by disasters.
•Disaster Recovery Centers remain open in several locations across the impacted area. -All DRCs will close this Saturday, June 6.
•The deadline for applications for Disaster Unemployment Assistance is NEXT WEEK, June 9, 2026.
•The Department of Revenue's Natural Disaster Sales Tax Relief Program is available for those receiving FEMA IA funds for certain purposes. More information can be found below.
•The Small Business Administration has made low-interest federal disaster loans available.
-Assistance is available to businesses, homeowners, and certain private nonprofits.
-SBA is providing several in-person assistance options in impacted counties.
-The deadline for physical damage loans is NEXT WEEK, June 10, 2026.
•Tennesseans can visit TEMA's Jan. 2026 winter weather hub for the most up-to-date information.
To date, FEMA has approved more than $65M in assistance to more than 28,000 Tennessee households.
Individual Assistance comes in addition to the designation of all 95 counties for either full FEMA Public Assistance or emergency protective measures under FEMA's Public Assistance program.
