The Clarkston Police Department has officially launched its new Safety Traffic Enforcement Patrol (S.T.E.P.) Unit, a proactive initiative focused on improving roadway safety throughout the city. The unit was created to address ongoing concerns related to pedestrian safety, traffic violations, and congestion in high traffic areas.

The S.T.E.P. Unit will increase patrol presence in school zones and pedestrian corridors, enforce traffic laws that protect lives, and encourage safer habits among drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. As Clarkston continues to grow, this program strengthens the city’s long-term commitment to safety and prevention.
