Independence Fire Department and The Oakland County Sheriff's Department are working together on some new training with our mobile command unit to ensure that if the worst happens, we will be ready to answer the call together!

Yesterday afternoon, Lt. Hiltner and Lt. Upshur responded with the Technical Rescue Team to Oxford, where a worker was trapped in a collapsed trench.

They worked alongside first responders from across Oakland County for nearly four hours to successfully rescue the worker.
