Friends of the Clarkston Independence District Library We are a volunteer organization of over 300 members who aims to promote and enhance the Clarkston Library. Funds raised support library programs.

We host 3 large used book sales in January, April, and September with over 10,000 books, movies, and music.

Thank you to everyone who donated children's books, games, puzzles, DVDs, and music after our Spring Book Sale. We are so grateful for your support! 💛

After our Spring Book Sale ended on May 2, we had just six weeks to build inventory for a June 15 Children's Book Sale. While we've received many wonderful donations, we simply haven't collected enough materials yet to offer the kind of sale we want for our community.

Rather than hold a smaller event, we're going to spend the summer building an even better children's collection for our Fall Book Sale on September 24–26.

The good news:
📚 Every donation we've received will be featured in the Fall Sale.
📚 We're still accepting children's books, board books, picture books, chapter books, DVDs, games, and puzzles all summer long.
📚 Looking for children's books now? Check out the Friends Book Sale carts in the library lobby. They're regularly stocked with great finds for young readers.

We're disappointed, too, but we're already looking ahead and hope you'll help us make the Fall Sale our best one yet. Thank you for being part of our library community!

We're collecting gently-used children's books, games, movies, and puzzles. We usually have about 40 boxes of books for this sale and our inventory is low currently. Help us provide a great summer event for the kids in our community. This book sale, along with the CIDL Summer Reading Program, aims to keep kids reading this summer!

Books can be dropped off anytime the library is open. There is a donation cart near the circulation desk.

As we prepare for our Children’s Summer Book Sale on June 15, we’re looking for gently used children’s games, puzzles, and activities to help fill the tables! Our book sales are not just books!

Have games your family has outgrown? Puzzles missing some excitement from your playroom? We’d love to give them a second life with another local family 💛

Donations help support the Friends of the Clarkston Independence District Library and library programs for our community.

If your kids have outgrown some favorite books, don’t let them collect dust. Pass them along to another family through our upcoming Children’s Summer Book Sale on June 15!

The Friends of the Clarkston Independence District Library is a volunteer group that supports our local library through fundraising events, like our popular used book sales.
Thanks to an amazing turnout at our recent Spring Book Sale, we sold out of children’s books 🎉
Now we’re starting from scratch to prepare for our Children’s Book Sale on June 15 and we need donations!
