📚🥐 Serving Up a Love of Reading at Kirkpatrick! 🧁📖

Last week, Librarian Miller transformed our library into a Book Bakery, giving residents the opportunity to “sample” a variety of literary genres and discover new reading favorites!

Through this creative experience, residents explored different types of books, expanded their reading interests, and discovered that there is always something new waiting for them between the pages. ❤️📚

🩺📚 OPEN HOUSE WAS SO MUCH FUN! ❤️💙

What an incredible evening at Kirkpatrick Health & Medical Science Magnet School! Our halls were filled with residents, families, community members, and plenty of Wildcat pride as we came together for an Open House centered on connection, learning, and celebration.

A very special THANK YOU to our Kirkpatrick parents and families for showing up and continuing to be such an important part of our Medical Pit Crew! Your presence, partnership, and support make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day.

📚 We also extend our sincere appreciation to Save the Children for helping us elevate this year’s Open House with the ribbon cutting for our brand-new Book Vending Machine! Through this generous grant, our residents now have another exciting way to discover books, celebrate reading achievements, and build an even greater love for reading. ❤️📖

And our residents had a goal of their own: bring more than 100 parents and guests to Open House! 🎯

They did it — and then some! 🙌🏾 With well over 100 parents and guests in attendance, our residents officially earned a Dress-Out Day! 🎉👏🏾

Did you catch us on the Jackson or Delta News??? This is what happens when collaboration, communication, and a commitment to excellence come together. Our families showed up. Our partners invested in our children. And our residents get to reap the rewards.

We also have a challenge: If 100 parents attend tonight, our residents will earn a Dress-Out Day tomorrow, Thursday, September 3! The announcement will be made at the end of tonight’s event.

🚨 ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILL NOTICE 🚨

Just a friendly reminder. Our school will conduct an active shooter drill this morning at 9:00 a.m. During the drill, the school will go into lockdown as we practice our safety procedures.

Please remember that this is only a drill—there is no active threat or emergency. These exercises help ensure that our residents and staff are prepared and know how to respond in the event of an emergency.
