Babys Bounty MC opened its doors 7 years ago. We started with a hope to help newborn babies in poverty in our community get essential items that could not be provided otherwise. We started small in a local garage space donated by the hearts at J&R auto services and grew into our permanent space donated by the hearts at Shoemaker Construction. Volunteers helped to paint and move furniture and then grew to help pack bundles, deliver goods to hospitals and schools, fundraise, speak the mission, knit blankets, work tables, 5k plans galore, holiday fundraisers, play music, makes baskets... Heck, do our taxes! All of this was done by our volunteers and community that care so much. We were able to raise money far beyond I ever envisioned from our community sponsors, there are too many to mention but they deserve many many thanks. Ultimately and gratefully with the help of our donors, volunteers and part time employees we were able to provide essential items to over 1000 new born babies in Montgomery County. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS! I am so grateful and my heart is full. Our program is so needed and so successful it has outgrown our small roots. As many of you know the DC area diaper bank is in the process of absorbing of our mission. This is bitter sweet. This is a true sign of growth, impact and an unfortunate necessity. We are closing Baby's Bounty Montgomery County but the mission will live on. If you wish to continue supporting our mission you may do so through the DC Diaper bank nursery program. Thank you again to all of you, it has been amazing and because of each and every one of you we have made a difference. - Jesi Roman
