What an honor to welcome Congressman Riley Moore to Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center this morning! 💙

We appreciated the opportunity to share more about the services we provide to children and families in our community, as well as the important work being done by Child Advocacy Centers throughout West Virginia.

Having leaders take the time to visit, listen, and learn about the needs of the children we serve means so much to our team and our mission.

Thank you, Congressman Moore, for taking the time to visit Hero’s Haven and for the work you do for West Virginia and, most importantly, for our children. 💙

Together, we can continue to give children a voice, provide hope, and build safer communities across our state.

Get ready — we’re changing the game for Munster Madness this year!
To make this year’s event even more fun, competitive, and organized, Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center is introducing a few changes to how players register and teams are selected.
PLAYER PRE-REGISTRATION
All players must pre-register with Hero’s Haven by September 30.
When registering, please provide:
• Player’s name
• Agency/department
• Shirt/tank size
• Confirmation that you will be participating
Player Eligibility: All players must be first responders serving Doddridge, Harrison, Taylor or Barbour. No professional players or current high school players will be permitted to participate. This event is designed specifically for our first responder community.
Pre-registration is especially important this year because Hero’s Haven will be purchasing reversible basketball tanks for the players. These tanks will feature our sponsors’ logos and will belong to Hero’s Haven so they can be used again for future Munster Madness events.
NEW THIS YEAR — LOTTERY DRAFT!
This year, we’re mixing things up!
Instead of registering as established teams, players will be selected for teams through a lottery-style draft. This is a chance to play alongside—and maybe against—first responders from different departments and agencies.
The goal is to create some new rivalries, new partnerships, and plenty of fun!
Draft begins at 5:00 PM.
First game tips off at 5:30 PM.
Depending on the number of registered players and teams, we may run games simultaneously on two courts to keep the tournament moving.
COST TO PLAY
Each player’s entry fee will be:
$5 OR one new item for the Hero’s Haven Client Closet.
Suggested Client Closet donations include:
• Hygiene items
• Shoes
• Clothing
• Toys
These items directly support the children and families served by Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center.
READY TO PLAY?
We’re looking forward to another great evening of competition, community, and first responders coming together to support the children we serve.
Remember: You MUST pre-register with Hero’s Haven by September 30 to play.
Bring your competitive spirit, bring your $5 or Client Closet donation, and be ready to find out which team drafts you!
Let the Munster Madness begin!

It is so important for agencies to collaborate, support one another, and work together for the children in our community. 💙

CASA and CAC provide different services, but our missions complement one another in so many ways. When agencies work together, our children and families receive stronger support.

A huge thank you to Alicia and the entire CASA staff for everything you do for the children of Harrison County. We appreciate your partnership and your continued dedication to making a difference.

We are also especially excited that the husband of one of our very own has now become a CASA volunteer! 💙 Thank you, Russ McKeen, for continuing a lifelong commitment to caring for and supporting children.

It truly takes all of us working together to make our community stronger for children. 💙

💙 It has definitely been a week of giving! 💙

We continue to be reminded just how fortunate we are to have such generous people and businesses supporting Hero’s Haven and the children and families we serve.

A very special shout-out and heartfelt THANK YOU to White Front Tavern & Grill, Courtney Austin, and Veronica Tonkin for your generous gifts and your willingness to support our mission. Your kindness truly makes a difference! 💙

Veronica, it was an honor to have the opportunity to give you a tour of Hero’s Haven and share more about our mission, our services, and the important work happening within these walls every day.

Every donation, every visit, every conversation, and every person who takes the time to learn about our mission helps us continue creating a safe place for children and families.

Thank you for giving, believing in our mission, and standing with us for the children in our community. 💙🩵

💙 Our hearts are full of gratitude! 💙

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended our Open House at Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center! It was such a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, welcome our community, and share more about the services we provide and the mission that drives our work every single day.

From federal legislative representatives to state and local leaders, community partners, multidisciplinary team members, supporters, and friends, we were honored to have so many people take the time to visit, learn, ask questions, and see firsthand how our team works together to provide a safe place for children and families.

Our work would not be possible without the partnerships and support that surround Hero’s Haven. Every person who walked through our doors represents another connection, another voice, and another opportunity to strengthen the response for children in our communities.

Thank you for showing up. Thank you for learning more about our mission. And most importantly, thank you for standing with us as we continue to give children a safe place to be heard, supported, and believed. 💙

It truly takes a community, and we are so grateful for ours.
