During National Police Week, we want to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation to all law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to protect our communities and our children. Your dedication, compassion, courage, and commitment do not go unnoticed.

At Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center, we are grateful for the partnerships we share with the officers across our four counties. Together, we stand united in helping children become survivors and ensuring families receive the support they deserve.

Thank you for the sacrifices you make daily, the difficult cases you carry, and the countless ways you serve others. This week and every week, we honor you. 💙🖤

Prevention is the key to early intervention. Being part of West Virginia’s Partners in Prevention (PIP) brings agencies and communities together to strengthen support for children and families. Kelly had the privilege of attending the 2026 PIP Conference in Pipestem last week, where she was able to build new connections, gain valuable skills, and bring back fresh ideas to help us continue serving our communities and protecting children.

⏰We’re in the final stretch! Our Annual Campaign ends May 31st, and we are just $131,950 away from meeting the needs requested by our Partner Agencies.

These agencies are on the front lines every single day, feeding families, supporting children, providing shelter, offering crisis services, empowering seniors, and strengthening our community in ways big and small. Their work changes lives, and they’re counting on all of us.

Every dollar truly counts. Whether you can give $1 or $1,000, every single penny goes directly toward helping our agencies succeed in their mission.

♥️💙💛United Way’s mission is simple but powerful: to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community. This is the moment to show what that caring power looks like. This is the moment to stand together. This is the moment to change lives.♥️💙💛

Let’s close the gap together!

Thank You to Our Funders

April has been a month of reflection for us here at Hero’s Haven Child Advocacy Center. While our campaign may be over, the important work of Child Advocacy Centers continues every day. Children and families across our communities come to CACs in need of support, hope, and healing.

At Hero’s Haven CAC, this work would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of our incredible funders. Your support allows us to provide critical services, advocate for children, and help families navigate some of their most difficult moments.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for making a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. 💙

Recap / Wrap-Up

Throughout this month, we’ve shared some heavy but important information about how child abuse impacts children’s physical, mental, and behavioral health — as well as the lasting effects on families and communities. We hope these posts helped you learn something new and better understand why we are so passionate about the work we do each day.

If you are concerned that a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, please call the West Virginia Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-352-6513. Your call could make all the difference.
