WEEKLY PROJECT UPDATE: CLARKSBURG WATER IMPROVEMENTS

CONTRACT NO. 1 – NORTH VIEW / BEAR CONTRACTING

Work Completed

The contractor completed installation of the new main waterline on 21st Street from Green Street to the dead end. Two mainline tie-ins were completed at the intersection of 21st Street and Pearlman Avenue. New customer service lines were installed on the existing mainline along Henderson Avenue. Concrete sidewalk repairs were also completed throughout the project area.

Work Scheduled for This Week

The contractor is scheduled to complete the mainline tie-in at 18th Street and Nulter Alley. The new main waterline will be installed on 22nd Street from Pearlman Avenue to Green Street and along Green Street to the dead end. Crews will also complete the remaining new customer service installations on 21st and 22nd Streets. Concrete sidewalk repairs will continue throughout the project area.

Traffic Information

NO PARKING signs will be placed in areas where the contractor is scheduled to work. Residents are asked to find alternate parking during the posted working hours. If a vehicle is parked within an active work zone and the owner cannot be located, the vehicle will be moved to a safe location. Residents who need access to their driveways should speak directly with the contractor onsite.

The following streets and intersections may be closed at times during construction activities:

- Intersection of 21st Street and Pearlman Avenue
- Henderson Avenue from 20th Street to 21st Street
- 21st Street from Green Avenue to the dead end

Road Closed signs will be in place as necessary. Motorists should use alternate routes and allow additional travel time through the North View area.

Emergency Services

Fire and EMS services in North View are not expected to be affected this week.

CONTRACT NO. 2 – STEALEY & HARTLAND / DOSS ENTERPRISES

Work Completed

The contractor completed concrete sidewalk repairs on Milford Street from Hall Street to Nicholas Street. Work continued on Milford Street from North Avenue to Park Boulevard with the installation of the new main waterline and customer service connections. The paving crew also completed trench paving on Milford Street behind the mainline installation. New customer service connections were completed on Milford Street from Baker Street to North Street.

The restoration crew began backfilling, seeding, and mulching areas disturbed by the installation of new meter pits and sidewalks.

Work Scheduled for This Week

The contractor will continue work on Milford Street between North Avenue and Park Boulevard to install the new main waterline. Concrete sidewalk repairs will continue on Milford Street, beginning at Nicholas Street and progressing toward North Avenue. Restoration crews will also continue backfilling sidewalk areas and seeding and mulching yards throughout the project area.

Milford Street will be reduced to one lane in sections from Liberty Avenue to Park Boulevard, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Additional streets may be affected depending on construction progress. Daily updates will be posted as conditions change.

Road Closed signs and flaggers will be in place as necessary. Motorists should use alternate routes whenever possible.

Emergency Services

Fire and EMS access to the Stealey area along Milford Street will be affected by construction activities. Flaggers will be stationed within the work area to assist emergency services and allow local traffic to safely enter and exit.
