🐍🌵 CALIFORNIA KINGSNAKES OF ARIZONA 🌵🐍

One of the most beneficial native snakes we have in the Verde Valley!

California kingsnake-type kingsnakes occur naturally throughout Arizona and play an important role in keeping our desert ecosystem balanced. These beautiful non-venomous snakes help control:
• Rodents
• Lizards
• Other snakes
• Even venomous snakes like rattlesnakes

Kingsnakes are often misunderstood, but they are incredible animals and an important part of our local wildlife.

QUICK REMINDERS:
✅ Non-venomous
✅ Excellent rodent control
✅ Usually shy around humans
✅ Important to desert ecology

If you see one in the wild:
➡️ Give it space
➡️ Observe from a distance
➡️ Never harm native wildlife

🐍 SONORAN GOPHER SNAKE 🐍
Arizona’s misunderstood hero.

The Sonoran gopher snake is one of the most beneficial native snakes in the Southwest yet it’s constantly mistaken for rattlesnakes and killed out of fear.

These incredible snakes are:
✅ Nonvenomous
✅ Native to Arizona
✅ Excellent natural rodent control
✅ Important to our ecosystem

When threatened, they hiss loudly, flatten their heads, vibrate their tails, and may even bluff strike all survival tactics designed to imitate rattlesnakes and scare predators away.

Nature built them to survive.
