Be Storm Ready, Verde Valley

The forecast shows a strong storm moving into Yavapai County. Now is the time to be prepared for the storm.

Free sand and sandbags are available at several locations throughout the Verde Valley, including:

- Yavapai County Verde Valley Public Works Yard, 4000 W Cherry Creek Road, Camp Verde

- Lake Montezuma, 4209 Seneca Lane

- Lake Montezuma, 5235 N Lookout Point Road (behind the Post Office)

- Verde Valley Fire District Station 31, 2700 E Godard Road, Cottonwood

- Verde Valley Fire District Station 32, 1120 S Page Springs Road, Cornville

-Verde Valley Fire District Station 36, 895 First South Street, Clarkdale

- Verde Lakes Water Company - 2867 Verde Lakes Drive , Camp Verde

- Town of Camp Verde Lower Maintenance Shop - Corner of Fain and Nichols, Camp Verde

Preparedness Tips:
- Check your property for drainage issues before rain begins.
- Use sandbags to protect doors and low-lying areas.
- Never drive through flooded roads — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
- Secure outdoor items that could block drainage or blow away.
- Keep flashlights, extra batteries, and a way to receive emergency alerts.

Clarktoberfest will be taking to the streets in downtown Clarkdale on Saturday, Oct. 4 from noon to 6 p.m. with free concerts by The Naughty Bits and jazz trio What’s the Big Idea, along with a cornhorn tournament and stein holding contest. “This is our 11th Clarktoberfest,” Mayor Robyn Prud.....
