Squad members come together to celebrate EMS week!

The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad ("CVES") recently held a ceremony to swear-in the newly elected officers for 2021. Instead of the usual formal dinner, the Squad chose a small service this year, as a measure of safety during the pandemic.

Councilman Patrick O’Connor who serves as the Council Liaison to the CVES was on hand to swear in the new officers. He thanked each member of the team for their volunteerism, dedication, and sacrifice.

O’Connor shared that his dad was a volunteer firefighter in town for many years and that he understood what it was like to have his dad miss a holiday, birthday or other event in service to others.

After the members were sworn in, the crew enjoyed some camaraderie and refreshments.

As a tight knit community of first responders, tonight we celebrate ringing in the new year as well as mourning the tragic loss of one of our town heroes. Mr John De Angelo has loyally served this community for many years and made a tremendous positive impact on all of us despite an incredibly challenging year past. We are forever humbly grateful for his service and wish his family many blessings.

-Driver (Valid NJ license and safe driving record required)
