The countdown is on... we're just ONE MONTH away from the Autumn Leaf Festival! 🍂

In just a month, downtown Clarion will come alive with nine days of fall fun, vibrant autumn colors, and one of Pennsylvania's largest daytime festivals.

From the iconic Tournament of Leaves Parade and a bustling carnival to more than 250 craft vendors, live entertainment, delicious festival food, community traditions, and family-friendly events, there's something to discover around every corner. It's no wonder the internationally award-winning Autumn Leaf Festival welcomes more than 500,000 visitors each year.

Before cooler days arrive, there's still time to make a splash with one more warm-weather adventure in Clarion County!

Spend the day paddling the scenic Clarion River, floating beneath the trees, or simply enjoying the view from the water. Whether you're an experienced paddler or ready to try something new, local outfitters like RiverRiders Rentals, Go paddle pa, and Cook Forest Canoe Rental make it easy to get out on the river with canoe, kayak, and tubing options for your adventure.

Get ready for the season ahead with a little help from nature!

Join Laura Matthews of Dear Heart Medicinals and Mercantile at the Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts for Herbal Preparation for Cold & Flu Season: Fire Cider Making Class on Saturday, August 29.

During this hands-on make-and-take class, Laura, a licensed acupuncturist and Classical Chinese medicine herbalist, will introduce participants to foundational skills using regional plants as you create your own fire cider to take home. All materials are included in the $30 class fee.

📍 Sawmill Center for the Arts, Cooksburg

Wake up to towering old-growth forests at Cook Forest, camp along the scenic Clarion River, enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Clear Creek State Park, or discover one of the area's welcoming private campgrounds. Kalyumet Camping & Cabins, Wolfs Camping Resort, Rustic Acres RV Resort and Campground, and Quiet Acres Camping all make great home bases for your next outdoor escape.

Spend your days hiking scenic trails, paddling the Clarion River, spotting wildlife, or simply relaxing by the fire with the people who matter most.

Before summer comes to a close, give yourself one more reason to get outside, discover somewhere new, and make another memory in Clarion County. (But if you can’t….most of our campsites are open through October!!)

Great news! Ridge Campground in Cook Forest State Park will remain open for both the 2027 and 2028 seasons while renovations take place. Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will be making phased improvements to the campground shower house and restroom facilities. We look forward to cleaner, safer and more accessible amenities for our visitors!

If your favorite campsite happens to be unavailable during your preferred travel dates, Clarion County has plenty of great campgrounds to explore. See the full list on our website!
