CVFD is staffed today and trucks are chained up ready to respond to Winter Storm Fern.

Please monitor the weather and stay off the roads unless it’s an absolute emergency. We have some of the best in the business at the Penn Township Road Department but this will be a lot of snow to keep up with!

Stay warm and stay safe!

🔥2025 CVFD incident statistics!🔥

Our devoted volunteers answered a record 410 calls for the year. This is in addition to the countless hours of maintaining equipment and apparatus, training, community events, fundraising, committee work, and meetings.

Much time was spent in harms way, and we reported zero injuries for the year 2025. This speaks to the exceptional level of training and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement demonstrated by our members year after year.

We are 100% volunteer, 24/7. Our members selflessly find ways to balance call response, training, careers, family, and personal commitments all in the best interest of the communities we serve.

In 2026, we are grateful for our families, friends, and neighbors. The success of the service we provide would not be possible without your invaluable support!

**Special shout out to Harrison City 1st Lt. Brandon Quinn for helping with the graphic for this post!**

Trevor Seice, one of our CVFD junior fireman, has been working very hard on a special project to commemorate the 80th anniversary of our organization. He’s spent long hours learning the history in both ink and pixels. He’s asked that we reach out to our followers to help him finish his project!

Although he’s had much success acquiring old photos and information he’s hoping to find more!

We’re looking for photos of apparatus, any of our current and former buildings, past events, firemen past and present, old uniforms and officers, the Claridge Hotel fire , the Claridge School, the Claridge Company Store fire, Colton Hall, and any or all other photos you might find relevant to this effort!

Additionally, he’d love to hear any and all information about the department you may be able to share.
He’s mostly hopeful to uncover some history and photos from 1945 clear up to the late 90’s/ early 2000s. Dates and any relevant information either big or small would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact Trevor’s father, Dave Seice at +1 (724) 454-6242 if you would like to support his effort!

We thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide in advance! Let’s help Trevor and his team get this project to the finish line!

A HUGE congratulations to former 2nd Lieutenant Orie List and the entire 135th Recruit Class at Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire from all of us at CVFD!!

Upon returning from his service in the United States Air Force, Orie has been a great asset to our department both on the fireground and in the background. Countless hours of training, certifications, discussions, and research all lead up to this moment for him. We couldn’t be more proud to have one of our own become a career firefighter. The first professional born out of CVFD!

We wish you an abundance of well wishes, safety, and luck as you embark on this new journey. Make us proud in the big city!! Well done PBF Firefighter List!!
