May 19, 2026. 1:19 AM. Clarendon Fire responded to a call for assistance from Howardwick Fire on Janny Drive in Howardwick for a structure fire that had also become a grass fire and had involved multiple structures. Hedley Fire, Groom Fire, and McLean Fire also responded. Clarendon EMS and Donley SO assisted as well as Greenbelt Electric. Clarendon Fire responded with 8 trucks and 12 firefighters and remained on scene to assist until 4:30 AM.

Today, Firefighters Chris Reuter, Josh Dunn, and Chuck Robertson made presentations at Clarendon CISD's career day, addressing elementary and junior high students about the joys of being a firefighter. Thank you Clarendon CISD

Tonight during our drill night, Training Officer Buddy Howard and Chief Jeremy Powell instructed on auto extrication training with our new battery powered tools. Special thanks to Billy Chadwick for letting us work on these vehicles!

Clarendon Vol. Fire Department would like to thank these departments from outside our county for coming to assist us. Some of these departments stayed with us for over 24 hours to make sure we had things well under control before they went home. We are blessed to have the best neighbors, and we could not have done it without them.

Clarendon Fire Department along with Howardwick and Hedley Fire Departments would like to thank all the neighboring volunteer fire departments, county motor graders, and state resources who came into our county to help us with the fire on February 17th. We could not have done it without your help! We would also like to thank all who helped with food, donations, and supplies. The public's support has been greatly appreciated. We were very fortunate not to lose any homes as this fire stretched over 10 miles long and impacted the Howardwick and Greenbelt communities on their west side.
