Let’s welcome Jill Hendrickson to the Zebra family in today’s New Staff Feature!

Mrs. Hendrickson is joining Claremont Elementary as a 2nd Grade Teacher. She earned her degree in Science from Northeastern State University and holds an Early Childhood Education certification.

When asked why she chose CPS, she shared, “I love the community feel.” After spending most of her career serving students in Claremore, she is excited to return to the classroom and invest in the next generation of Claremore students.

In her free time, she enjoys decorating, crafting, and spending time with her family. She has been involved in Christian education and school leadership for more than 25 years and is an active member of Claremore First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hendrickson has two daughters, both Claremore Public Schools graduates. She also has a Cavapoo named Ollie!

A few fun facts: Mrs. Hendrickson received a music scholarship in college, once sang at Carnegie Hall, played basketball in high school, and has met both Vince Gill and Garth Brooks!

Her favorite quote is: “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

Friday Night Lights are coming HOME!

These three 5th grade Zebras are suited up and ready to cheer on the big kids tonight! As youth football players themselves, they’re getting a glimpse of where hard work, teamwork, and a love for the game can take them.

Tonight is the first HOME game of the season, with our varsity Zebras kicking off at 7:00!

We love seeing our little Zebras supporting our big Zebras. Go Zebras!

Thankful Thursday! 🦓

This week, we are thankful for our amazing Claremont PTO!

Before our students arrived for the new school year, our PTO took the time to make their walk into school a little brighter by decorating our sidewalks with encouraging words, positive messages, and reminders of just how special they are.

What a wonderful way to welcome our kiddos back and start the year with kindness!

Thank you, Claremont PTO, for always finding ways to make our students and staff feel loved and supported. We appreciate you! 🦓

MOO-velous Morning at Claremont!

Our drop-off line got a little extra treat Tuesday morning thanks to Chick-fil-A! They stopped by with coffee to help our families and staff start the day with a little extra pep in their step.

And of course, the Chick-fil-A Cow was a huge hit with our kiddos! There were plenty of smiles, waves, and excitement as students made their way into school.

We’re udderly grateful to Chick-fil-A for thinking of us and helping make our morning so fun. What a MOO-velous way to start the day!

Starting the Day with a Little Strategy!

Before the school day even began, these two were already putting their brains to work with a game of chess!

Chess is more than just a game—it encourages problem-solving, critical thinking, patience, and planning ahead. We love seeing our students choosing to learn, challenge themselves, and have a little fun along the way.

Not a bad way to start the morning at Claremont!

Our 4th graders got creative with Play-Doh by making something that represents what they enjoy! From playing with baby dolls to cooking and other favorite activities, each creation gave students a chance to share a little bit about themselves.

What a fun way to encourage self-expression, spark conversations, and build connections with classmates at the beginning of the school year!
