The preservation and advancement of youth in agriculture is vital to the future of America. Tonight I had the privilege of being coached by Maddie, a 6th grade 4-H student at Oologah on how to prep and show “Diva”. Diva is a Dorset Advantage registered ewe. I’ve never seen coloring like this on a sheep. The Tri-County Fair’s celebrity show was hard up this year since I was included, lol. Great to see Mark Vancuren, Stan Sallee, Ken Underwood, Donnie Hutchinson, Craig Day and others. Good luck this weekend Maddie and I hope to see you at the Rogers County Fair in September!

Gio as we have all come to call him, is an amazing individual that we had the pleasure of working with at the City of Claremore. He is also a newly naturalized and proud citizen of the United States of America! Here we go…it’s summer and utility bills surge. 1. If your meter was de energized during the tornado you’re NOT charged for power…it’s simply not mechanically or technically possible for your bill to reflect charges when there was NO power. 2. You cannot compare the current month’s bill to last month’s bill…you have to compare it to the previous years bills for the same time period. 3. Just because the billing cycle states the days, that does not mean you were billed for power usage during those days if you did not have power. Again; mechanically and technically impossible. 4. The ONLY variable that affects your utility bill is the usage…KwH’s used during a billing period. May was cooler than June and the number of days you had or didn’t have power has no bearing if you used more power. Also, most municipal utility bills are all inclusive so when you see posts about “my electric bill” it almost always also includes water, sewer, trash & stormwater. Water usage is much higher in the summer months. Rant over, have a great weekend.
