Wild Heart Ranch

Wild Heart Ranch www.4thewild.org We are a non profit, State and Federally licensed rehabilitation facility for wildlife. We turn nothing wild away if we can help it.

State and Federally licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility accepting all species, all situations of Oklahoma wildlife who need medical and orphan care and release back into the wild when they are ready. We take in all indigenous species of wildlife for NE Oklahoma and have been operating since 1996. We intake more than 3000 orphaned and injured wild animals each year of every species and every

situation. We are a privacy based care facility on 100 acres of sanctuary for wildlife and do not exhibit the animals in our care. The animals are easily stressed and we strive to reduce contact and disruptions as much as possible to keep them content and prepare them for release, but we share photos, videos and their stories on our page daily to keep our supporters and followers updated on our activities and cases. We operate solely from the donations of caring individuals who want us working for the wild so that those who have no one, receive everything they need to get back out into Nature where they belong. Thank you for your support! "Because we all suffer the same"

Annette gave me the opportunity to release this young eagle near the area where I rescued her. She had been found covered in sludge and f***s beside one of the ponds at a wastewater facility that was undergoing repairs. My best guess is that she mistook the sludge for solid ground when she landed and became trapped.

After a week of being cleaned up, cared for, and well fed, she was ready to return to the wild. I wanted to get her back as quickly as possible. With an active nest nearby, I didn't want her parents to give up hope and move on.

The challenge was finding a safe release location close to the nest but away from the wastewater facility. Then I remembered a beautiful property where I had taken my granddaughter's senior pictures, only a short distance from the nest. I reached out to Juniper Lane Owasso and asked if we could use the property for the release. Without hesitation, they said yes.

It could not have been a more perfect place to return her to the skies. To make the moment even more special, my wife had the honor of opening the carrier and setting her free.

I've always loved this quote from Jacques Cousteau:

"For man cannot give wild animals freedom; they can only take it away. When we release them into nature, we merely return them to what is already theirs."

Moments like this are a reminder that wildlife doesn't belong to us. Our job is simply to help when they need it and then step aside so they can reclaim what has always been theirs.

Good Morning, Everyone!!! The beavers would dive underwater every time they spotted me, but I was able to get a few photos before they disappeared. One of my favorite parts of these shots is the perfect reflection in the water, creating a beautiful mirrored image.

Good Morning, Everyone!!! The eagle that was rescued from the Tulsa Northside Wastewater Treatment Plant is looking great.

I’m very thankful the staff called when they noticed it wasn't flying away. Situations like that are often the difference between an eagle getting a second chance or not.

You can really see the size difference in the second photo. Thunder is on the left, and this eagle makes Thunder look small by comparison. It's always impressive to be reminded just how much size can vary from one eagle to another.

Seeing this bird healthy, alert, and continuing its recovery is a great reminder of what can happen when people take the time to make that one phone call.

Good Morning, Everyone!!! They are not always causing mischief. Sometimes they are just recharging, enjoying a quiet moment before getting back to whatever trouble they have planned next.
