RSU Libraries invites you to join us on Thursday, April 30th at 6pm in Room 207 for A Night In Verse!

Our National Poetry Month Poetry Contest may be over, but you can still stop by and enjoy all we have to offer to celebrate our local poets and our favorite poets.

Bring a piece to share (either original or by your favorite poet), get crafty and create some blackout poetry, and sit back and enjoy a night of mocktails, snacks, and fantastic community!

RSU Libraries 2026 Poetry Contest is officially OPEN for RSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni! Share your best pieces centered around the National Poetry Month poster (available in the comments)! We would love to see your work and hear how it was inspired by the imagery, the themes, or the words of the poster with art by Alfredo Richner and an excerpt from Athur Sze's poem, "The Chance."

• What: Original work only
• Length: 500 words or less
• Limit: 3 entries maximum
• Theme: Take inspiration from this year's NPM poster
• Deadline: April 23, 2026, by 11:59 PM
• Prize: A small, writing-themed prize will be awarded to the winner of the competition
