Please join us in welcoming Geoff Payton as the new Assistant Principal of Student Services at Claremont High School! 🐺

Geoff is no stranger to CUSD. He joined our district in 2019 as a Science Teacher and AVID Coordinator at El Roble Intermediate, and currently serves as our Culture and Climate Intervention Teacher, supporting students and training staff districtwide in Restorative Practices. He is a graduate of CUSD's inaugural Aspiring Leader Program cohort and was recognized by his colleagues as the 2024-2025 CUSD Teacher of the Year.

Geoff's student-centered leadership will be a tremendous asset to the Wolfpack family. Welcome, Mr. Payton! 🐾

A Note from CUSD:

Screen time and classroom technology are on the minds of many caregivers in our community right now. The concerns you have shared about how technology can affect student learning, attention, and wellbeing are important to us, and we want you to know your voices are heard.

CUSD takes this topic seriously. District leadership is actively working with teachers, administrators, and other educational partners to examine how devices are used in classrooms and what changes may better support student learning.

This is the kind of decision that touches every CUSD student, which is why we are committed to doing this work carefully and with input from across our community. We will share more details about the process next week.

Thank you for caring deeply about all of our students as we work together to build a policy that reflects The CUSD Commitment.

Before it's on the ballot, it should be shaped by the community.

The CUSD Board of Education is considering placing a school facilities bond on the November ballot, and before that question reaches voters, they want to hear from across Claremont. Not only from households with children in our schools, but from everyone who calls this city home.

Whether you're a parent, a retiree, a longtime homeowner, or a new neighbor, this conversation includes you.

Join us at the Community Engagement Meeting:

📍 Wednesday, May 13 at 6 p.m.
El Roble Intermediate School, Multipurpose Room

Free, open to the public, and please bring a neighbor.

Our Sumner Danbury students made the Today Show this morning! 🎉

At Open House a few weeks ago, we asked students a simple question: what do you think your parents do for work? Their parents followed up with the real answers. In honor of Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, the featured clips from the video, and the guesses were priceless while the reveals were even better.

Thank you to the Today Show for the spotlight, and to our Sumner Danbury families for making this one unforgettable.
