The Alexander Hughes Community Center, Joslyn Senior Center, Blaisdell Community Center, Camp Claremont, and all Wading Pools will be closed next Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth. Commercial and multi-family refuse collection services will be delayed until Saturday.

The City of Claremont and the Independence Day Committee invite the community to attend the annual 4th of July Fireworks Show at Pomona College’s Strehle Track on Saturday, July 4.

Tickets are available now and can be purchased online at www.claremontca.gov/Fireworks-Show or in person at the Alexander Hughes Community Center (1700 Danbury Rd).

Smoke may be visible in Claremont from a controlled burn in the Angeles National Forest over the next few days.

Smoke may be visible in Claremont from a controlled burn in the Angeles National Forest over the next few days.

: Angeles National Forest firefighters are conducting prescribed fire operations in Tanbark Flats today, June 9.

Smoke may be visible in the San Gabriel Valley, especially in the foothill communities of Glendora, San Dimas, and La Verne.

If conditions allow, the project will continue through June 13.

Claremont’s Public Art Committee invites teens and youth of all experience levels to attend its upcoming Community Mural Brainstorm Workshop at the Youth Activity Center (1717 N. Indian Hill Blvd).

This community mural project is a collaboration between the Public Art Committee, Teen Committee, and Claremont Village Marketing Group, bringing together local voices to create a vibrant new piece of public art in Claremont Village.

Join us this Wednesday to share your ideas, creativity, and perspective as we brainstorm the mural’s design and vision.

Special City Council Budget Presentation – Tuesday, June 9 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 225 W. Second Street, Claremont, CA 91711. Staff will present the proposed 2026-28 City Budget by department. No action will be taken at this meeting. The consideration of adoption of the budget, including public comment, will be an item on the regular meeting agenda (Item 13).

Regular City Council Meeting - Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber following the Budget Presentation.

Meetings are open to the public for in-person attendance. Meetings are live streamed via Zoom. Members of the public will not be able to provide public comments via Zoom. Written comments may be submitted on the City website or emailed to the City Clerk’s Office.

Movies in the Park return this summer! Join us for family-friendly movie nights at neighborhood parks throughout the City beginning July 8 and concluding on August 4 with National Night Out.

All movies are free to attend and will begin at dusk. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and favorite movie snacks for a fun evening under the stars.
