City Offices will be closed for the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 25, 2026. A Memorial Day parade put on by Pettit Kapplinger VFW Post 5738 begins at City Park in Clare on 5th Street at 10:00 a.m. on Monday May 25, 2026 and marches to Cherry Grove Cemetery where a ceremony will take place.

Notice: Temporary Building Closure for Repairs

We want to inform everyone that the building will be temporarily closed for repairs. This maintenance is necessary to ensure a safer and better environment for everyone. We are having issues with the Depot elevator and fumes and we cannot safely allow tenants or the public in the building until OTIS is able to come, inspect and repair. We will post and email as soon as it is opened back up.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while we complete this work. Updates will be shared as progress continues.

LET WATER RUN NOTICE

The City of Clare has issued a ‘Let Water Run’ order.

Please do the following to ensure your water lines do not freeze:

Water is to run 24 hours a day from ONE faucet.
Stream is to be the size of a pencil lead or slightly larger.
Do NOT shut water off until directed to do so by the City of Clare.
The City of Clare is NOT responsible for thawing frozen water lines.
Water bill will be averaged on past consumption during the ‘Let Run’ order.

Lane closures for US-127 BR resurfacing begin Sept. 17 in Clare County

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $266,000 to resurface US-127 Business Route (BR) from 3rd Street to State Street in Clare. Work includes cold milling and overlay, drainage structure adjustments, and permanent pavement markings.
