The Summer Reading Challenge begins today!!
Books checked out between June 1st and June 30th will be counted towards the Reading Challenge. Participants must have their own library cards, and kids' cards are FREE! Parents and/or legal guardians can sign their child up for a library card. Be sure to register by Friday, June 5th, for the Reading Challenge!

Thank you to everyone who supported the library today! We loved seeing our community come together to celebrate reading and summer fun.

A special thank you to all of our staff, vendors, volunteers, library board, and sponsors for helping make this year’s event such a success. We appreciate everyone who stopped by, participated, and shared in the excitement with us. We can’t wait to do it again next year!

We are scheduled to go ahead and have our Kids Summer Kickoff outside tomorrow at 9:00 AM!

It’s going to be a fun-filled morning, and we can’t wait to celebrate the start of summer with everyone. Bring the kids and join us for all the excitement — we hope to see you there! 📚🦖

Stop by the library tent at the Kids' Summer Kickoff on Friday, May 29th for some dino-sized fun!
Here's what we'll have happening:

-Enter to win 1 of 4 dinosaur-themed library bags.
-Kids' Summer Reading Program T-shirts will be available for purchase for $15 each (proceeds will benefit the Chilton Clanton Public Library)
Sizes available: Kids Small, Medium, and Large
-Kids can also enter for a chance to win a FREE Summer Reading Program T-shirt!

Winners will be contacted at the end of the day. We can't wait to see everyone at the kickoff!

JAN the SCIENCE LADY. FRIDAY, JUNE 5TH @ 2:00 PM.

Get ready for a fun science adventure with Jan the Science Lady! Jan Mattingly is the CEO of Dynamic Education Adventures, LLC, and she loves bringing hands-on learning to kids in exciting and creative ways. Join us for a program full of fun, discovery, and science surprises! This will be Jan’s first visit to our library and our first Summer Reading Program of the year. This program is FREE and open to ALL ages. We look forward to seeing you there!

If your child hasn't registered for the Summer Reading Challenge, be sure to bring them by the library to sign up by June 5th! They will need their own library card to register for the reading challenge. Read the post below to find out all of the details. We will have a registration list at our Kids' Summer Kickoff on Friday, too!

We're holding out for optimal weather on Friday morning! The forecast is showing a 30% chance of rain in the afternoon.

Join us for a special outdoor kids' event at the Old Adair property beside the library from 9:00-11:00 am on Friday, May 29th.

PLEASE NOTE: The library building will be CLOSED from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm during the event. The public restrooms in the building will be open, but library services will not be available until 1:00 pm.
