On 3/10/2026, the City of Clairton Council as well as the Clairton Fire Department recognized several members of the department with a Medal of Valor who selflessly and courageously responded to the catastrophic explosion that occurred at U.S. Steel Clairton Works on August 11, 2025.

During the incident, these members entered into the area to assist with command, search and rescue efforts, staging, and suppression without hesitation.

We are proud to announce that the following members have been awarded for their bravery:
