On Saturday, I helped celebrate Sister Mary Geraldine Vargoโ€™s 100th birthday and her 80th jubilee of service to the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer.

She was born in Ohio and taught music and piano in parishes across Ohio and Pennsylvania. In addition, she was an organist and choir director for various congregations, including the Divine Redeemer Motherhouse in Buena Vista.

I presented Sr. Geraldine with a House citation to mark the occasion.

Thank you to WPXI for bringing attention to these milestones. Watch โžก๏ธ https://tinyurl.com/4eaas7w7

In a field not far from us, the passengers and crew of Flight 93 showed unity, courage and defiance in the face of the terrorists.

Please join me today in pausing to reflect on the events of 25 years ago, all the lives lost and the first responders who aided on that day and the days to follow.

Thank you to everyone who came out to my fourth annual Senior Expo last Friday at Boston Spectrum in Elizabeth Township.

We had the biggest crowd ever -- about 450 people!

It was great to see so many seniors and their families take advantage of the opportunity to gather information from state and local agencies, businesses and other organizations.

I look forward to hosting this event again next year!

Today, I joined other community leaders in celebrating the grand reopening of Steel Center for Career and Technical Education.

I am proud to support our technical schools and assisted to secure $4 million in state funding for the renovation and expansion of the school.

Students from 11 different school districts will fill the halls for the first time this school year on Monday. Itโ€™s key that we invest in apprenticeships, CTE and vo-tech education to strengthen our workforce and give students pathways toward their future goals.

Pictured with me is Sue Mackulin, president of the West Jefferson Hills Chamber of Commerce.
