✨ DOG OF THE WEEK ✨
Meet Cheerios 🎾

Cheerios is the kind of pup who brings the party wherever he goes. This goofy, happy guy LOVES people and is always ready to make a new best friend.

Some of Cheerios’ favorite things include:
🎾 Chasing his tennis ball (or just carrying it around to show everyone)
☀️ Hanging out outside, soaking up the sun
🐶 Meeting new dog friends
❤️ Spending time with his favorite humans, soaking up attention

Cheerios has tons of personality, plenty of energy, and enough charm to keep you smiling all day long. If you’re looking for an active buddy with a big heart and an even bigger love for tennis balls, Cheerios might just be your guy. 🐾

We are open Tuesday–Friday from 1pm–4pm for walkthroughs, or you can learn more about Cheerios through his adoption profile below and submit an application to meet him!

❤️ WOW. You all showed up for our dogs in a BIG way.

After our recent post about running low on food, donations started pouring in almost immediately.... and we are so incredibly grateful for the support from our community. From wet and dry food to treats and other goodies, our shelves are looking so much better thanks to all of you. 🥫🐾 (As you can see... Sadie girl is super excited and thankful 😋)

Your generosity helps us continue caring for the many dogs who come through our doors, and it truly means so much to both our staff and the dogs in our care.

Thank you for supporting CCDS and helping us provide comfort, care, and full bellies to the dogs who need us most. ❤️

🐶💡 Woof Wise Wednesday: Did You Know?

Your dog’s license tag is one of the quickest ways to help them get back home if they’re ever lost!

A current license tells Dog Services your pup has a family waiting for them and gives us the information needed to reunite you faster. In some cases, an officer may even be able to return your dog directly to your home. 🏡

Plus, licensed dogs receive:
🐾 A longer hold time at the shelter before we begin looking for a new home
💲 A waived first impound fee within a 12-month period if your dog comes to the shelter (daily boarding fees still apply)

A tiny tag can make a huge difference for your pup. ❤️

Pop wanted everyone to know that the food shelves are getting pretty low again at Dog Services. 🐶💕

With a large intake of dogs over the last week, we are going through food extra fast, and our shelter pups would be so grateful for donations of wet and dry dog food. (Pop would also like everyone to know that Kirkland brand of the WET food is VERY popular around here. 🥫)

If you’re able to help with donating food, we would be incredibly grateful! Donations can be sent directly to us at the shelter, dropped off during the week, or sent from our Amazon Wishlist https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/225SS7O6Q4K08/ref=hz_ls_biz_exor

SO many thanks to everyone who continues to support our dogs with food donations. Full bellies make for happier pups! ❤️

After months of waiting, our longest resident has finally found her forever home ❤️ Osprey came into our care back in October, and last week she officially went HOME! 🏡

Watching dogs like Osprey finally get to their next chapter is one of the best parts of what we do. Her journey reminded us that sometimes the perfect match just takes time and she was absolutely worth the wait.

Thank you to everyone who shared her posts and cheered her on until she found her people. And of course, thank you to her adopters for giving her the loving home she deserves!

We’ll definitely miss seeing her gentle-self around the shelter, but we couldn’t be happier for her and her new family 💙

✨ DOG OF THE WEEK ✨
Meet Myrtle 💕
Myrtle has been with us since the end of February, and we would LOVE to see this sweet girl find her forever home soon!
She’s a girl who knows what she likes, with some of her favorites including:
☀️ Being outside (especially playing in the water!)
🦴 Tasty treats
❤️ Spending time with her people, cozying up on a comfy bed and getting some love
She can take a minute to warm up during a first kennel presentation, but once she’s out and has a chance to meet you, her personality really shines.
If you’re looking for your new best friend, it could be Myrtle 🐾
We are open Tuesday–Friday from 1pm–4pm for walkthroughs, or you can check out Myrtle’s profile on our website or submit an application to meet her! https://apps.clackamas.us/dogs/aflyer.jsp?no=106295

Cookie Crisp has officially found her home! 🍪❤️

Last week, this sweet girl headed off with her new family, and we couldn’t be happier for her. Watching dogs leave the shelter and start their next chapter never gets old.. especially when they steal hearts as quickly as Cookie Crisp did.

Thank you to everyone who shared, supported, and cheered her on during her stay with us. We can’t wait for all the couch naps, treats, and adventures ahead for this lucky pup.

Happy tails, Cookie Crisp! 🐾

💙 Overdue Journey Recap 🤍

We’re a little behind on sharing some very exciting adoption and rescue updates, but we are so excited to celebrate all of these dogs who have recently left the shelter for their next chapters!

🐾 Happy Adoptions! We are so excited for them and their new families and wish them all the best as they settle into their next adventure together! 🐾
Nemo (Border Collie mix)
Jake (Aust. Cattle Dog mix)
Daisy (German Shep.)
Reese Puff (French Bulldog)

💙 Transfers to Rescue Partners!
Booberry (Pitbull mix)
Honey Bunches (German Shep. mix)
Trixie (Jack Russell Terrier mix)
We are incredibly grateful for our rescue partners who help make space, provide support, and continue each dog’s journey. These partnerships are a vital part of the work we do! 💙

And we are so thankful to our community; those who have opened their homes to our dogs, supported through donations, shares, and in general just helped to make these outcomes possible.

Thank you for your patience as we catch up and for continuing to support CCDS every step of the way 🤍

Pop is the Dog of the Week!

Hello, my name is “Pop”. I weigh about 54 pounds and am 1 year old. I'm a very happy dog that would like to spend a lot of time learning new things and brushing up on old things. I have the energy to go walking, running and hiking. I will need a lot of exercise and mental enrichment. Dog training would be a great way for us to bond better. I would like to have a home that has a fenced in yard so I could run around and be a dog.

1) Pop would do best in a home with kids 13 or up. However, she may do well with respectful kids who may understand her excited nature. We would require all children to be brought in to meet her prior to take her home.

2) We don't know how Pop will be with cats or small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have small animals living in the house.

3) Pop is a very sociable gal and loves people!

4) POP has been friendly towards some of the other dogs in the shelter. If you have another dog in your house, we will need to setup a meet and greet to ensure a good fit.

Taffyta is the Dog of the Week!

Hi, I'm Taffyta! I'm a 3-year-old Husky weighing about 53 pounds with a gentle heart and a playful, spunky side. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but if you give me a little time and patience, I warm up quickly and love to show my affectionate personality.

Once I'm comfortable, I really enjoy being around my people and letting my fun side shine. I walk nicely on leash and would love to join you for walks, hikes, or any outdoor adventures.

I may do well with other dogs as long as we're introduced slowly and appropriately. I have not met any other creatures so I don't know how I would react to to cats or other animals. I have lots of energy (typical Husky here!), so I'd love a home with a securely fenced yard where I can run, play, and be my happy self.

I'm looking for a patient, loving home where I can keep building confidence and be your fun, loyal companion.
1) Taffyta is a happy girl who may do great in a home as a first-time dog if her new family is committed to her mental and physical needs.
2) We don't know how Taffyta will be with cats or other small animals, so be sure to discuss proper introductions between any resident small animals and Bailey with your adoption counselor.
3) Taffyta has been been interested with other dogs at the shelter but we recommend discussing introductions with your adoption councilor.
4) Taffyta may do great in a home with children who are respectful with their hands and her space!
