Our MJE family continues to grow. Please help us welcome Mrs. Ashton Gibbs. She is excited to join the McDavid-Jones Elementary family as the new Special Education Preschool Teacher. She brings 14 years of teaching experience and a passion for helping young learners grow, explore, and reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. She is so excited to be coming back to preschool. When not at school you can find her spending time with family, boating, tending to her chickens, baking sourdough, thrifting, and reading. Teaching is her ministry and she can’t wait to see what the 26-27 school year has in store. She has a B.S in Special Education Early Childhood from the University of Alabama. Welcome to Wildcat Nation!

We would like to welcome Mrs. Krystal Kittrell to our First Grade team. She absolutely loves to teach. She comes to us holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Masters degree from William Carey University. She has taught for 28 years in the Wayne County School District in Kindergarten, first grade and fourth grade at Buckatunna Elementary. She is excited about this new adventure as a Wildcat. She has two children, Kerrington and Klein. Kerrington is in her second year of medical school and Klein is a welder preparing to become a CWI. Welcome to our MJE Wildcat family!

Please help McDavid Jones welcome Ms. Leigh Bullard. She will be joining our amazing first grade team. She comes to us holding a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mobile. Ms. Bullard has taught kindergarten through third grade and currently enjoys reading, spending time with family, and watching Alabama football with her father. McDavid Jones Elementary would like to welcome Mrs. Kristen Hayaski as our 3-5 Media Specialist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Special Education, from the University of South Alabama and has taught for over 10 years. Mrs. Hayaski has been married to her husband, Blaine, for 11 years, and they have a 7-year-old son, Benson. As a family, they spend most of their time at the ballpark. She also enjoys painting, crafting, and other creative projects.

As the school year comes to an end, we feel a mix of emotions as we bid farewell to some of our dedicated staff members. These individuals have devoted their time and efforts to serving our students, faculty, and community for many years. We wish them all the best in their well-deserved retirements.

If you come in because you need assistance you MUST BRING: Two Proofs of Residency

• ONE proof with physical address (property tax/deed/mortgage/lease agreement/home insurance) One Proof from the following:

• utility bills/deposit receipts (water/gas/phone/electric/cable/garbage/ bank statement)

• income tax records from IRS

Optional if NO Utility Bill:

• check/correspondence from Social Security, DHR, food stamp office, TANF

• bank records (checking/saving/loan statement)

• investment certificate

• employment records (company check/employer verification)

• 2 major credit card accounts = 1 proof

The student must be registered by June 17th at McDavid-Jones for Kindergarten 2026-2027 with Proofs of Residence.
-Bring a snack and juice
-No uniforms required
-No sandals or flip-flops
-Drop-off no earlier than 8:55 AM
-Pick-up by 1:00 PM
-Lunch will be served
-Follow the signs for Car Drop-Off/No buses for Bridges
