🔥 June Employee Spotlight: Fire Fighter/Paramedic Jenny Mathes 🔥

This month, our June Spotlight shines on Fire Fighter/Paramedic Jenny Mathes! 🔦

Jenny has been with the Circleville Fire Department for a little over three years and was one of the department’s first lateral transfer employees. Her dedication to serving others extends well beyond CFD. Jenny and her twin sister, Becky—also a Fire Fighter/Paramedic with CFD—volunteer with a regional search and rescue team in Cincinnati called Cincinnati Search and Recovery (CSAR). Together, they work alongside their two SAR K9s: Bindi, trained for cadaver and live-find searches, and Gracie, trained for cadaver detection and therapy support. Over the past five years, Jenny and Becky have dedicated thousands of hours to training and responding, helping bring answers and closure to families of missing or lost loved ones.

In her free time, Jenny enjoys hiking, training her dogs, gardening, and attending metal concerts with her husband.

Captain Scott Cavanaugh noted that Jenny is highly motivated to train and continually works to enhance her job-related skills. He also shared that she provides excellent patient care, and has exceptional interactions with members of the community, stating Jenny has been a great addition to the department and the City.

🎉 Congratulations to Sgt. Matthew Harrell on 5 years of service with the City of Circleville Police Department! 👮‍♂️

Sgt. Harrell began his career with CPD as a Police Officer and later served as a Detective before being promoted to Sergeant in 2024.

He enjoys being in a leadership role where he can help those around him grow and work to make the department a place where future officers want to be.

In his free time, Sgt. Harrell enjoys spending time with friends and family and participating in outdoor activities.

Thank you, Sgt. Harrell, for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving the City of Circleville community. Thank you for being a positive role model within the department and for the example you set through your service and leadership. We appreciate all you do!

Join us in congratulating Officer Tim Sanford on 5 years of dedicated service with the Circleville Police Department! 🚓

Officer Sanford proudly serves as one of our two K9 officers. His dedication to public safety and strong partnership with his K9 partner, Dexter, make them an invaluable part of our department and the community we serve.

Outside of work, Officer Sanford enjoys spending time outdoors and hopes to earn his pilot’s license in the future. ✈️
