Cinnaminson Township Committee Member and Public Safety Liaison Ernest McGill recently joined Police Chief William Obuchowski and Detectives Sal Barbuto and Mark Berardis for a Fraud Prevention and Awareness Presentation at Azalea at Cinnaminson Senior Living.

The presentation provided valuable information on the latest scams and fraud schemes targeting seniors, along with practical tips to help residents recognize warning signs, protect their personal information, and avoid becoming victims of financial crimes.

As fraudsters continue to develop increasingly sophisticated tactics, education and awareness remain some of the most effective tools for prevention. Cinnaminson Township is committed to working with our community partners to keep residents informed, safe, and connected to important resources.

Thank you to Azalea at Cinnaminson Senior Living for hosting this important event and to the Cinnaminson Police Department for their continued dedication to protecting and serving our community.

Mayor Ryan Horner, members of the Cinnaminson Township Police Department, and Township Administration were proud to participate in New Albany School’s “Laps for Literacy” event held at the Cinnaminson High School track on Friday, May 15th.

This wonderful event celebrated students’ love of reading and recognized the incredible progress they have made throughout the school year. Students earned laps by reading books, turning literacy into a fun and meaningful achievement that highlights their hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm for learning.

Cinnaminson Township is grateful to New Albany School for inviting us to be part of such a positive community event. We also want to recognize the continued efforts of our Police Department’s first-grade “Adopt a Cop” program, where officers visit monthly to read with students and help foster a lifelong love of reading.

Congratulations to all of the students, teachers, staff, families, and volunteers who made this event such a success. Your commitment to education, literacy, and community engagement continues to make Cinnaminson a special place to live and learn!

The Forklanding Road Bridge (A4.8) over the Pennsauken Creek will close for a major reconstruction project that is expected to take nearly a year to complete.

The Burlington County Engineer’s Office announced the bridge closure would begin on Monday, May 18. The bridge is expected to remain closed until the reconstruction project is completed in late April 2027.

More than 3,500 vehicles typically travel across the bridge daily between Cinnaminson and Maple Shade.

During the closure, all vehicles will be detoured from Forklanding Road using Lenola Road (County Route 608), Route 130 and Route 73. Local traffic will be able to access the closure area but will not be able to cross the bridge or use other portions of the roadway.

The steel pony truss bridge was originally built in 1906 and was rehabilitated in 1988. The bridge is currently rated structurally deficient and has a posted weight limit of 5 tons. Its main structural components have exceeded their useful life and deteriorated to the point that reconstruction is necessary.

The County plans to rebuild the old bridge with a single-span prefabricated truss superstructure supported by concrete caps on pilings and protected by steel sheeting. The reconstructed bridge will remain a single lane structure carrying two-way alternating traffic and a traffic signal system will be installed at both approaches to regulate traffic across the bridge.

Burlington County will use a state grant to fund part of the construction cost.

The reconstruction project will begin with temporary utility relocation work. Construction is expected to begin in July.
