Recently, our own Engine 39 passed its Pump test with flying colors. This is to ensure it is not only fully operational but to make sure it can withstand outputting extensive water and water intake pressure in both the village and outside of the village in our mutual aid partners jurisdictions. Thank you to Specialty Truck Repair for hosting our apparatus.

A couple of our village firemen spent a few minutes Friday afternoon playing hoops with our kids at Elmwood Park. It's always great to engage with our community. And our weather was beautiful too! Remember, our annual Easter Egg Hunt is coming up Saturday morning April 4 at Maple Street Park, corner of Maple and Cedar. Details coming soon. We look forward to seeing you and your kids there!

Hello everyone!

According to NFPA 1, Fire Code 18.5.7.1 and safety guidelines, a minimum of 36 inches (minimum of 3 feet on all sides) of clear space must be maintained around the circumference of our fire hydrants to allow safe access to all connections.

This ensures they are visible and fully accessible for firefighting as well as prevent life and property threatening delays during emergencies.

The EPFD personnel have been and will continue clearing our hydrants today and in future days coming as we get more snowfall in the Village. If you are unable to do this, please call Elmwood Place Station 39 at 513-242-0790 for assistance from our firefighters.

The Elmwood Place Fire Department, along with mutual aid fire companies responded to a vacant house located at 402 Lombardy, for a very difficult but working structure fire this morning, all crews faced water supply issues due to frozen hydrants. We would like to thank our mutual aid fire department partners that responded to this call for service, as well as the various resources such as the Red Cross, a Metro Bus for warming up our firefighters and many more other organizations.

Lombardy is now back open as of this afternoon, February 5th.
