Road Closure - Hopper Hill Road

Pursuant to Section 5543.17 of the Ohio Revised Code, I have determined that a road closure is necessary on Hopper Hill Road, as it is impractical to construct a temporary highway, culvert, or bridge. This closure is necessary for Duke Energy to relocate and replace utility poles in preparation for an upcoming landslide repair project.

The closure is located between address 3563 and 3579 Hopper Hill Road. The road will be closed to through traffic from 9AM to 2PM on Monday, June 22, 2026, through Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The length of the detour is approximately 6.97 miles or 36,781 feet.

The Office of the Clermont County Engineer shall notify the Communication Center and other affected agencies. AlI advanced warning and detour signs wilI be erected and maintained for this project. Our crews will install and maintain advance notice and detour signage. Duke Energy will be responsible for installing and maintaining barricades and closure signage within the work zone.

Road Closure - White Oak Road - Watermain Improvement Project

Pursuant to Section 5543.17 of the Ohio Revised Code, I have determined that a road closure is necessary on White Oak Road, as it is impractical to construct a temporary highway, culvert, or bridge. The closure is necessary to allow the contractor to install a water main along White Oak Road.

The closure is located between Merwin Tenmile Road and SR 125 on White Oak Road. The contractor will begin working near Merwin Tenmile Road. Once work has been completed, they will move east along the roadway. White Oak Road will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning today, June 3, 2026, through Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The length of the detour is approximately 3.79 miles or 20,022 feet.

The Office of the Clermont County Engineer shall notify the Communication Center and other affected agencies. All advanced warning and detour signs will be erected and maintained for this project. Our crews will maintain the advanced warning signs. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining all other detour signs. Attached is the recommended detour.

The Pierce Township Service Department has an opening for a Full Time Maintenance Worker II/III to work within the Service Department.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Valid Ohio Driver’s License and an Ohio Commercial Driver’s License with a class A and with air brake endorsement or must obtain within six (6) months.
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Advanced training or associate degree in construction technology, turf management, carpentry, road maintenance or similar field preferred.
* Two (2) to Four (4) years’ experience in all areas related to building, and ground maintenance/repair or equivalent training.
* Effective both verbally and in writing.
* Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
* Willingness to plow snow in the winter.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must have demonstrated skills in operation of the following, but not limited to, equipment:

* Some equipment operating experience
* Snow Removing Experience
* Operations of at least two pieces of equipment
* Cemetery Operations
* Concrete Experience
* Public Experience
* Blacktop Experience

This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position with competitive pay and a generous Township benefit package.

All candidates are subject to comprehensive criminal background check and drug testing.
