We are so excited! The first round of laptops for our Building our Community, One Laptop at a Time campaign have arrived! Many thanks to Western & Southern for making this possible and to our tech experts at PearTree Consultants who are installing all the needed software.

Here at the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation we are proud to have the Dr. O'dell Owens scholarship. Over the past years. this scholarship has helped first
generational students from schools in the Greater Cincinnati area further their education.

The Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation congratulates our amazing board member Olivia Kentner for being selected as one of the 2025 Cincinnati Serves Honorees! This is Olivia’s second year on our board and she also serves on our Scholarship Selection Committee and our Marketing and Community Outreach Committee. Olivia walks the walk and does a lot of great work for our community. This recognition is well deserved and CSF is incredibly honored to have Olivia as part of the CSF family!

Join us for the pre-party BEFORE the party—complete with cocktails, camaraderie, and a complimentary shuttle to the concert. Lots of food, fun, dancing and drinks!

This special event is dedicated to continuing Dr. Owens’ work, ensuring that first generation students with financial need from Cincinnati Public Schools, Covington Independent, and Newport Independent Schools have the opportunity to pursue higher a education.

Dr. Owens was a pillar in the community and abroad and always sowed back into the next generation. He began this scholarship with the help of to help first generation students further their education. This exciting celebration is to help continue his legacy and the endowment of this scholarship.

In 2021 Dr. O'dell Moreno Owens established the Dr. O’dell Moreno Owens Scholarship Fund at the Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation to support
the very youth he devoted his life to uplifting. Following his untimely passing in 2022,
his vision remains unfinished—his scholarship is not yet endowed.

Join us as we celebrate the life and lasting impact of Dr. O’dell Moreno Owens and help raise the funds to continue his work, ensuring that first generation students with financial needs from Cincinnati Public Schools, Covington
Independent, and Newport Independent Schools have the opportunity to pursue
higher education.

Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation is proud to partner with Tutor Teens for a second year in awarding their scholarship! This all volunteer group was started by Erin Finn and Aiden Finn during covid as a small and free online tutoring service while they were still in high school! Fast forward and they are a nonprofit organization with many volunteer tutors and an all volunteer staff and have an incredible outreach into our community. Theirs is truly an inspirational story about how a spark can turn into a meaningful change for students in Greater Cincinnati!

We have big news to share!

Starting next school year, Tutor Teens will become part of Square1, a local nonprofit that supports youth entrepreneurship. This new chapter will help us continue to grow while staying true to what makes Tutor Teens special: teen-led, community-rooted, and always free.

Since we started in 2020, Tutor Teens has:
- Provided 6,000+ free tutoring sessions
- Supported 360+ local students
- Trained 300+ high school tutors
- Partnered with schools, families, and organizations across Greater Cincinnati

We’re proud of what this team has built—and incredibly grateful for the community that helped us get here. Last evening, Cincinnati Scholarship Foundation’s Vanessa Kurtzer and Whitney O'Neal had the privilege of attending the The Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation “Women Who Lead Mixer”.

The event featured an inspiring interview with Ohio’s former Director of the Ohio Department of Health Amy Acton interviewed by CSF Board Member Michelle Hopkins. A powerful conversation on leadership, resilience, and impact!

A special shoutout to the Women’s Fund team - including Rajani Menon and Camilla Worrell - for their dedication not only to this program but also to their transformative Appointed Program. Their work is paving the way for women’s leadership in our community.
